About Dancing PawsDancing Paws is a dog training organization dedicated to instruction in the sport and art of Dancing with Dogs (internationally known as "canine freestyle"). Dancing Paws' Instructor is Rosalie James, ably assisted by her Australian Labradoodle, Rocky
Rosalie has been blessed with many canine companions through the years who she loved and trained. In 2004 she came across a video clip on the internet of Carolyn Scott and her Golden Retriever, Rookie, dancing to "You're the One That I Want" from the movie, "Grease." Rosalie says she was so overwhelmed by the joy of the performance and the obvious human/canine bond, she just had to learn how to experience that with Rocky. She began looking for a teacher or at least someone who could point her in the right direction to begin. Because there didn't seem to be anyone locally, she began learning through books and tapes, attending workshops, and asking questions of the experts via the internet. Since that beginning, Rosalie founded the Rio Grande Canine Freestylers club, and she and Rocky have earned their W-FD/MF freestyle title as well as attaining a WCFO bronze bar in proficiency. Rosalie and Rocky continue to hone their dancing skills as they pursue additional titles and share their knowledge with others through Dancing Paws classes. Dance like nobody's watching |
